I took that as a reference to the TARDIS.
On page 814 (chapter called "Blood Price"), Angela is knitting a hat, and when Eragon asks what the runes on it mean she says: "Raxacori--oh, never mind." Which I took as a reference to the planet of the Slitheen, Raxacoricofallapatorius.

For Brisingr, there's a scene at the beginning where Eragon and Arya are sitting around a camp fire, and Arya absentmindedly writes something about "the lonely god" in the dirt. I didn't get that it was a DW reference until I read the acknowledgements, where CP says it is.Lily J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08517974784100159005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2604618242929059089.post-60819092622680973512012-05-19T19:15:55.990-04:002012-05-19T19:15:55.990-04:00Why, thank you! Probably why I wasn't paying enough attention to notice, since I'm usually the first to pick up on any DW references.

I am DEFINITELY jealous. Writing from lunch until dinner? That does sound like heaven. I got through NaNoWriMo by writing in my 45 minute lunch break at school, and for about half an hour in the evenings after I ought to have gone to bed. And that was all I got. It was very sad :( To have a solid hour - multiple solid hours! - would be bliss.Miriam Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10516402325473855925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2604618242929059089.post-67559490878982155692012-05-19T02:28:06.159-04:002012-05-19T02:28:06.159-04:00Just wanted to stop in and let you know you've...Just wanted to stop in and let you know you've been awarded the kreativ blogger award:)
Congrats!

--Katie
http://thefictiondiaries.blogspot.com/2012/05/kreativ-blogger-award.htmlWanttodeletehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09406954083639271369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2604618242929059089.post-48114237418133096412012-05-13T15:15:33.785-04:002012-05-13T15:15:33.785-04:00Yeah, well, though I mostly am writing when on the...Yeah, well, though I mostly am writing when on the computer, even that is restricted.
Ah. Plain old computer time has been dubbed as "chilling out".
No, I'm not rereading it. I just noticed two references when I read Inheritance the first time and when I reread Brisingr last summer, and wondered if anyone else noticed them. The references were when Sloembum made a comment about rooms that are bigger on the inside than on the outside (like the TARDIS), and when Eragon asks Angela what the runes on the scarf/hat/whatever it was she was knitting say, and she says "Raxacor-oh, never mind". If I'm not mistaken, they were "Raxacoricofallapatorius" which is a planet from Doctor Who.Lily J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08517974784100159005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2604618242929059089.post-3083700516988232862012-05-13T08:17:14.635-04:002012-05-13T08:17:14.635-04:00Pretty good post. Ah, well, you can't have everything.
I didn't notice any Dr. Who references in Inheritance Cycle, but I still haven't exactly figured out more than a few things about Dr. Who.
